Common Canon Printer Questions

Answers to the most common problems Canon users face during setup.

Visit usa.canon.com/support, enter your model number, select your OS, and download the "Full Driver & Software Package". Avoid third-party driver sites to ensure security.

On the printer's control panel, press and hold the Wi-Fi button until the lamp flashes. Then press the Color button. Go to your router and press the WPS button within 2 minutes. The printer will connect automatically. For other methods, use the Wireless LAN Setup Wizard via the printer menu.

Go to Settings → Devices → Printers & Scanners on Windows. Right-click your Canon printer, select "See what's printing", then click Printer in the menu bar and uncheck "Use Printer Offline". Also check the Wi-Fi connection on the printer's control panel.

Canon IJ Setup (also called Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app) is the recommended setup tool for PIXMA and MAXIFY printers. Download it from the Canon website or app store, then follow the in-app wizard to connect your printer via Wi-Fi and install the required drivers.

The model number is printed on a label on the bottom or front of the printer (e.g., PIXMA G3010, imageCLASS MF3010). You can also find it in the printer's Settings → Device Information menu, or by printing a nozzle check pattern from the printer.
